Well here is my situation, I recently sold a site to a member on this forum. He has already made the payment and I have lost contact with him. Over the past couple of weeks I have sent him many private messages. I still haven't pushed the domain or sent the files to him. He replies to no emails or PMs, yet I still see him actively posting on DP here. But no matter how much I PM him he doesnt respone and I just want to finalize the deal. Would it be rude for me to post the site for sale again? I just want to get it sold and I've lost contact with my original buyer.
I would send a message to the buyer exposing that you will post your domain for sale again, making clear this fact in the post as well so he doesn't complain of being unaware.
If he paid for it, you should not put it on sales again. Eventhough the buyer didn't pick it up, he is still the owner of the site
There is two options here. 1) Zip/Tar up the site contents and keep it in a safe place while you contact him. So even if it is taken down, you can still deliver what he paid for. 2) Alternatively, if you want to re-list the site, contact him and tell him to contact you within a certain period and failing which, you will refund him his money and you can relist. For the meantime, he is still the owner. I had some people who bought my sites did the same. Because they do not feel the need to reply until they found time to manage the site or find a hosting for it. I had one who was so eager to buy two sites from me and after months, he still did not take over them. I told him that I needed to remove the sites since I was giving up that server within a few weeks and he promised to move everything. During the appointed time, the server was surrendered with the sites and until today, after 6 months, he has not ran the sites as yet and he did not complain.
How did he pay for the site? If it was via Paypal, hit the "Refund" link in the transaction before you put the site back up for sale. Most other payment services will let you do the same unless you took a Wire or Cheque. Once you've sent the money back, then put the site up for sale. The last thing you want is him showing up in a few days and threatening to sue you over it, so send the money back first so he has no grounds to raise a claim.
You can't do that without buyer's permission. How can you unsold something? I wish i can do that since i sold my sig link for $150 life time. It worth like 60 buck a month now...but i can't just refund the money and put it on sales again
Well, if the other party has not benefitted from the deal as in the case of the OP, he can offer a refund. If both parties agreed on a deal (in your case) and you already offer him the service, you cannot back out from it. A contract is considered done only when there is an exchange of goods or services for a consideration.
i think you have been already paid for it, so do not resell it unless you get any confirmation, just wait for a while and then take any decision.
how long ago is 'recently'? if its longer than 3 months, resell it, offer a refund. if its not, hold on and keep contacting.
I'd just refund the money back and try to resell it to someone else, it would probably be wrong if you kept his money and resold it, then you can get screwed and maybe he wants to put you in that situation.
Strange. Anyway, you are not the owner of the site anymore and cannot sell it again. If you can refund the money, do it and sell it again. Or if its more profitable for you, just store the files and forget about it until he asks for them. Let the domain expire if that happens, its not your business if it does.
