I was listening to Shoemoneys show tonight and he mentioned that the people at YPN called him to tell him that he had to remove his YPN ads from his sites because his traffic was not converting well enough for its advertisers. I went and checked out one of the sites he owns, and sure enough its running AdSense again. It's also very funny because hes doing a talk pretty soon with one of the the people at YPN! So even Shoemoney can be told that he needs to remove YPN ads! Honestly I'm shocked. I can't believe YPN would tell a large publisher like Shoemoney to remove his ads.
I agree. That's where it's going to end up eventually. With the current model all the risk is placed on the advertiser. Unfortunately there are a lot of good sites out there providing service that may not be able to pay for themselves once it switches to CPA.
Can't wait to see what happens when 90 days passes and he receives his payment with a 50% cut of his finial earnings - I also cant see why some of his sites such as nextpimp.com don't convert well. I'm also a victim of termination and the 50% cut - **ck ypn!
business is business and money is money. his name doesnt mean a damn thing if the advertisers arent making money.
So YPN publisher is not permanent like adsense publisher? I mean, I never heard google told anyone to remove their ads, google just banned publisher against the TOS, aren't they?
The main thing is Shoemoney has not been clicking on the ads or asking others or doing bad advertising tactics. Yahoo has to learn or should have learn't by know that some sites will convert well for their advertisers and then there will be a few that will convert not so good. This happens all the time on the Web. If you are correct that Shoemoney has Adsense back on his site then he has done a good thing by replacing Yahoo with their competitors ads.
Well, I guess you guys are right about the smart pricing. I could have sworn that AdSense banned quite a few sites a while back for poor conversions, but I can't seem to find a thread about it.
Adsense may ban a site from showing ads if it violates TOS (and not necessarily ban a webmaster from the adsense programme... although they will be warned etc). YPN is experimenting and looking to give a much higher ROI that adsense (to gain more advertiser trust/endorsement), and therefore are taking a different approach that google. Ultimately both Adsense and YPN are looking to maximise ROI for advertisers to be able to gain more advertisers and increase total revenue for themselves at the same time. They are just using a different approach, afterall, ROI is just a statistic and all statistics can be manipulated to the benefit of the company compiling the statistics, which can be verified by 3rd parties. However, the method that enabled the statistic to be arrived at would not necessarily need to shown.
If Yahoo would stop giving us garbage ads to work with, it would help tremendously. People visiting upload4free dont give a damn about a car dealership in Nowhereville, TX.
I don't think Shoemoney is a huge fan of YPN anyway. With AuctionAds and ShoemoneyAds I think his attention is elsewhere.
I agree. Best Point yet in the thread You got to a Ice cream site and get "free mortgage quotes" YPN is purely a joke. Oh sure...From the publisher's side its great.. More money, But for the advertiser....well they are just screwed In my opinion they should can the whole program... and save there rep
I agree. The people at Yahoo! must be the laziest in the world. That or they simply don´t understand what targeted traffic means.
Plus...its code man, Google did it.... Why Can't yahoo? I mean yahoo get some real engineers , stop spending all the money on sponsoring Entertainment tonight <<---Tv Show
