Automated Video-scraping site (digg like) - videobuzzer.com

Hi,
I need to make room for new sites and thus I'd like to sell an older project of mine for which I have no more time to continue working on. The site in question is Videobuzzer.com.

I already built the site in November 2006 but never got around to promoting it properly. The site uses the free pligg (pligg.com) script and a cron-job to automatically scrape new and popular videos from Youtube and thus does require no work at all.

I have customized many aspects of the basic pligg script. New and unique features include:
- AJAX Login/Register box in the sidebar
- AJAXed description, see "Show Description" links
- Add to social bookmarking sites buttons as a viral promotion tool.
- "Post to Myspace" links that allows users to post videos to their Myspace account with a link to videobuzzer (uses AJAX as well)
- Custom footer and header (AJAX as well here )

The site is PR2 but as I said does not get much traffic and thus you can assume no revenue (there are not many ads placed yet either). You can view the full stats here (in German but you should understand it anyways).

The Domain is at Namecheap, Payment via PayPal only.

If you click on the political tab, the first video is "lesbians kissing". Why does this happen? Aren't you pulling from YouTube RSS feeds (that have their content monitored)?

 

Does it only pull from Youtube?

I'm running the cron daily every night at the moment. According to the database there are 1649 listings right now.

Yes I'm only pulling from Youtube feeds and this video looks like some kind of Youtube spam. If they bother you you would have to delete such videos yourself I suppose because I don't really see another way. This is the first tiem I see something like this however.

@ValuableVisitors: Some of the custom elements are already in use in (2) other sites of mine, more specifically the header and footer. Those are however in no way in competition with Videobuzzer and have another niche and topic.

 

That is OK; we were going to modify the header and footer extensively. Can you please provide the URL of your other two sites? Are they video sites?

I'm interested - however there seems to be a small bug. At the current video at the top (How to extend your ram), when I click on discuss I get a 404 error. The other discussion links seem to work, though.
