Received the same "tips" here. So, do we all agree? This is not good advice? I only have 5 URLs in my filter. Too many folks say "Filter out the crapola." and "Measurable improvement, after blocking." Too many folks say "Raise your EPC AND eCPM by showing just one ad block". I believe this is true. Agree, or disagree?
Argh they have spoiled my beloved adsense reports page...my temple! I hate change! lol. (i got the same message too!)
Agree or disagree about the what is said or that too many people say it? I agree with both of the statements as said. I have performed tests and have found statistically significant improvements. But, that is just my site...your mileage may vary and you have to do this with your own sites to see if filtering is justified or worthwhile. Don't believe me because I say it worked for me, try it yourself and see if it will work for you. It may...it may not. Note, filter sites that actually show up, not ones from some generic list.
I see what you mean. Sorry about that. What I meant was - Many folks say "Filter out the crapola." and "Measurable improvement, after blocking." Many folks say "Raise your EPC AND eCPM by showing just one ad block". Do you agree with the folks that make these statements? The way I see it, following these tips will make Google more money. The way I see it, following these tips will make YOU less money. Do you agree with these two statements? Or am I wrong? .
Curious. I only have my own site to go off of but I definitely increase earnings (and I assume that Google earns more, too, so the first one is correct in my case, but not the latter) Can you explain your views? I can see Google getting more money but I'm not seeing the part where you would make less. Have you done any tests with this? Edited: If your second statement applies only to the second "many folks say" then perhaps, I have not really tested this one out too much. The first one is also true because the clicks become worth more, however YOU are also making more so I'm okay with it...I don't see any downside to Google AND the publisher making more money Definitely measurable improvement from filtering.
I just now noticed a message section on the reports page. Anyone else notice this? What could it be for?
Yeah me too. It basically told me to remove sites from the competitive ad filter as i might earn more that way.
