Might this be the sh*t that sets it all off?

Im over war. The world seems to be. Britain and USA are trying to settle this through diplomacy. Iran is being a smart arse and is bringing this among themselves. If they continue to do this they deserve a smackdown. How dumb are they but kidnapp opposing troops. Come on, especially when your a poor country where unemployment is 15 % and you have no fighters except pensioners. And you think you can beat a superpower and a close thing to that in Britain aswell.

Defeating Iran wouldn't be difficult. What would be difficult would be figuring out what to do with it once we've defeated it.

If we were heartless bastards, we could just destroy it and leave. But, we're Americans. As soon as we destroy something, we rebuild it. That would be quite difficult and would require an enormous investment in both money and manpower.

    Yup, Halliburton rebuilds it. ;)
And it make millions of dollars for your heroes that you so resolutely support, but it does absolutely nothing for the average American person.

It's time to wake up to how you are being fooled by these corrupt bastards in charge of your country Willy.

I would vote bomb it & leave it, what responsibility do we have to rebuild a country that caused the war. Do what we need to then get out, besides they hate "occupying forces" ;)

I'm worried about you & would like to tell you the same thing, WAKE UP i'm serious, those websites your visiting have an agenda & they are sucking you in & brainwashing you it's like a sick cult. You have probably been told this by the people who run the sites that people will tell you the above because they hate etc but if you don't wise up soon you may be 'gone' forever.

Think for yourself don't let others think for you, read the news from many news sources the more the better, get the gist of the story & figure out things for yourself.

    Let me FINISH THE CYCLE:

Halliburton and other contractors rebuild it and charge HUGE FEE. The country is placed in DEBT. When the country can't pay DEBT, they are given INTEREST RELIEF and/or DEBT FORGIVENESS.

    What does this mean?

Buy INFLUENCE in the AREA and UN Votes. This is not new if you know history. Since the dawn of human history from Egyptian, Persian, Greeks, Romans, British and America. Pretty interesting, history does repeat itself, but players have changed, but game is still the same.

    Britain can bomb Iran: Check
Iran can bomb Britain: Ummm... no

But of course, Britain isn't going to do anything like that to free fifteen hostages. Britain would first have to get approval for their actions from India and China, and that's just not going to happen.

Lets look at some numbers shall we?

    From a liberal site:
    http://www.truthout.org/docs_04/121004A.shtml

So, let's do some math. The contracts are worth about 11 billion dollars. Profit will be about 400 million dollars. The profit margin for halliburton is 4% (less actually). If I told you to invest 100 dollars with me, and 10 years later you'd have 104 dollars, would you do it? Probably not. It's not worth it. So if your concept Halliburton's profit motive, then they --really-- need to work on the conspiracy.

Add to this, that when (and it has happened) Halliburton has been found to overcharge the government, they have to repay the money, plus a penalty, it eats into the profit even more.

So, I ask you, where is the profit motive for Halliburton?

Great post Lorien. One of the other key points people fail to realize is that Halliburton is the only company that does this kind of work. So who else are you going to hire? Who would be a better choice at a 4% or less profit margin?

Truth is, Halliburton is just a fun catch phrase like, that there Fox News, or Bush, or Cheney, or Rove, or whatever name the moonbats come up with to aid in their eternal quest for the ultimate mud sling.

The Shrub and Cheney and the whole administration are crooks....no sh*t...they are politicians. Geez, imagine that, crooked politicians. Islam is a plague on the free world.Iran and most of the muslim world have been begging for a fight. If they think it's so glorious to die then give them what they want..."promote them to glory" as the old saying goes and cleanse the planet of a vicious, evil thing before it has us all back in the dark ages. Everyone wants to piss and moan about Cheney and all the other rich b*stards in this administration making money from this war, but if any of YOU were in the same position you would do the same. That is capitalism at it's finest in a nutshell. Sucks, but that is the way it is folks.

It's funny that we have people b*tching about capitalism, and most of us here are trying to make money off the net :)

I think that the ones who complain are just too lazy and stupid to do it successfully.

This leads them to frustration, anger, and lashing out at anyone who isn't as much of a failure as them.
