Can you get an average of $0.10 a click easily with AdSense? Also what does it take to get even higher paying clicks?
Yes, in my experience most clicks fall in the range 5-10 cents. AdSense is a contextual based service - it delivers ads based on your page content. To get higher paying ads you need to write content related to higher paying subjects. Examples of these would be finance, legal, insurance, health etc. Do not fall into the trap of making a spammy site about something you aren't really interested in just to boost your AdSense revenue.
Thanks, What if you have a general site the covers many topics would the average pay per click still be around $0.10 most likely? Also what does it take to get $0.20 clicks? Do tech ads pay well?
It would probably depend on the type of ads being shown. So if you have a medical ad, it is likely to have higher cpc than a gaming ad.
What I find interesting is how the average pay per click can vary largely from one day to the next - I've had it run from 0.10 up to 0.60 on days..
When you say tech ads pay well how much do you mean on average? I know it depends but what do you think on average the pay would be for tech ads?
Well I earned average $0.10 per click from my sports blog. I never get less than $0.10 average. I think mobile and medical ad give more money per clicks.
The paying is based on domain/niche of the site and the keywords used You can avarage more or less it's not an exact thing
$0.10 is not HORRIBLE for an average, but if you'd like to bring it up, work on your content's keyword... just play around with new ones and see how the click values are.
Don't pick your topic by how much Adsense will pay. If you pick something you like, and you make a website about it, your visitors will know that you love the topic and that you know what you are talking about. They are going to come back and recommend your site. If you do it for the money, you will have a harder time to find visitors. In the end, a very high traffic website can easily outperform a low traffic site, even if it is in a low paying niche. Just do what you love and see how it goes.
Find a niche in a high paying market. But beware, the more costly the keywords, the more competition.
I did VISA application information. Sometime pay well, sometime less, But maximum I ever got is 1.54$ per click
Average per click means nothing. There are many many factors. The niche, the time of day, the number of ads you display (yeah it actually matters), etc. The smart pricing model is very complex. I have my share of 10 cent a click sites and I have other sites that average much much higher. Google does in fact still pay over $1 a click in some niches to some sites. So it's tough to generalize. I suppose if you could divide total dollars collected by total clicks for every adsense webmaster in existence it would be somewhat less than 10 cents a click. I'm too lazy to look at their SEC filings and try to figure it out, because I simply don't care about averages. Care about what your sites are doing because that is what matters.
So is it better to display more or less ads on your site? I have heard it's actually better to display less.
I suppose it depends on what your goal is. You could lose visitors, but as a general rule, the more ads your site has, the more you will make...unless the fact that you have more ads (and particularly obnoxious ads, like buzzing banners, or interstitials every time someone tries to move around the site) are ultimately driving people away from your site. Then I guess over time, you could stand to lose money. But if you have a site that reviews products, for instance, and your only form of monetization is adsense, and you ad Chitika, I do not see how you could lose money. Your increasing the chance someone will click and ad. If you're really concerned about getting high paying clicks, then use YPN instead of adsense.
From my experience, I would suggest for you to stay away from gaming niches unless you've got it backed up by an affiliate that you know you can convert the traffic into sales.
if you want help figuring out which adsense ads pay more just think of the budget an advertiser would have the higher the advertisers budget generally the more they will pay per click (not always though) for instance a doctor or software vendor is probably going to have a larger budget then say a myspace site owner or craft maker
