How to use Google API to check keyword position [Free Script]

Discussion in 'Google API' started by KC TAN, Nov 17, 2006.

    Hi all,

I have recently uploaded a free script for the new API developers to download / reference to.

This is my second free script that allows the users to check the position of the keyword(s) relating to a url. It will use up 10 queries at most each time to check if the url is within the top 100 but exits immediately after encountering the url.

The script / demo can be found here:
    http://www.useseo.com/google-keyword-position.php

Hope it helps, any feedback is appreciated :)

Another nice little tool from you. I just saw your tutorial on how to use the Yahoo API. This is pretty cool, I am going to have to check out the source when I have time this weekend.

Are you sure that it works correctly? I tried it with a two words keyword that I am sure I rank 2nd and it doesn't work.

It also depends on the datacenter that its pulling from based on your location.. Based on my experience, it does have some differences with the real time results.

sweet script and thanks for making it available as a download

Do you think you will be developing it so that you can choose which DC you want to check against? Maybe select which regional google search you want to test your domain against.... for example co.uk or .de?

    Thanks for your comments :)

I won't think i will be expanding it further as Google has stop distributing the API to the developers.. I will see how it goes.

I think that the real search results and the results from the API are different.

It's the fastest tools that I have ever use, nice work+well done seoalan. I will come and use it really often due to I'm at a very low position on some keyword and this tools tell me very quick although not English keyword.

    I also have minor suggestion:-
    * Could you refresh the screen after show the result? If I find many keyword position again and again it make user confuse on the result.
Question:- Is google ban my IP after use it often like other tools?

    Thanks.
