UK: Teachers drop the Holocaust to avoid offending Muslims

Personally I think that this material should be taught. If you don't know the past then you're doomed to repeat it. It's history for a reason... it happened. Screw religious sensiblities. No point in masking the truth. Ignorance? Stupdity? What are your thoughts?

I think it's absolutely disgusting. I mean, what's the point of school if you're afraid to teach the truth?

 

This doesn't make much sense. The reason for it is simply absurd.

 

Ok so dont offend one group but offend those who actually were in the Holocaust.Hmmmm if only my great uncle were still alive....He is sooooo turning in his grave.

 

Who cares who gets offend this is the UK & facts are facts, it doesn't matter if someone gets offended if teachers say grass is green, it is.

 

*deep breath in, deep breath out* I hated history as a kid because it was just taught as random assortments of facts and dates and places.

If anything, I would CONCENTRATE on the holocaust, and on the crusades, and on anything that has a definite story and time line that would get students passionate about the history, even if they were passionately against what I was teaching.

 

Must be a small majority then, I'm doing the holocaust for my history coursework. The school is having a trip to Auschwitz aswell.

 

Wow. Those are going to be some very lucky, but likely very sad students.

 

It won't be much longer before another holocaust happens.

 

I just can't believe it will happen in the UK.
Looks like more and more, Europeans get afraid.
First Spain. Several bombs in Madrid area and Spanish put themselves on their knees, trying to avoid another gesture from Islamic terrorists.

There are people alive that are able to testify to the factual accuracy of real historical events such as the holocaust. However, no one can provide a shred of factual evidence that any of the so called prophets of mainstream religion ever existed. Yet honorable, right-minded people who do not share their religious prejudices and simply want their children to receive a fair and honest education are repeatedly expected to bow to the whims and fancies of these manipulative religious bigots. It is all going way, way too far.

 

The jewish people rarely get a break.

It's funny but I think that the holocaust is bound to happen again unless they change their ways.
I read somewhere that Jews are their worst enemies. They unconsciously re-inforce stereotypes about them.

How can you say bound to happen again (admitting the holocaust happened) but denied the holocaust never happened in another thread, it makes you a lier:

That type of attitude & hatred makes your religion look bad & makes the true defenders of islam look like liers when they are trying to prove a real point.

 

That's the standard anti-semetic line.

By denying the holocaust they try to convince the world that the Jews are the bad guys playing the victim card.

And since the Jews are the bad guys they deserve to be whiped out.

It's a sick game. But it illustrates why "moderate" Muslims are in the same category as Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and man friendly lesbians.

I can't blame the Jews is they're a little leary about people who openly discuss putting them through a holocaust again.

And blowing yourself up in a crowded area, then lobbying for peace and acceptance towards your religion isn't a typical characteristic of radical muslims?
