Hello, First of all i gotta say this site/forum impressed me alot, lotsa interesting topics and user experiences shared. However there were alot of topics releated to "earnings, how much, how large and other cash releated how how's" So in the spirit of that; here i go. Im fresh in this game as i've just started making sites and using ad programs like adsense and adbrite. I dont understand how some of you people can actually achieve over $1k a day, nor $100 for that matter. The last site i started(a funny vid site, 1 month old exactly) has around 3000 uniques a day and around 10k pageviews and i make around $10 a day on both adbrite and adsense combined. Im somewhat under the impression that this genre of sites generate a very low click through revenue especially via adsense. So my question is rather if there are someone out there willing to give me some pointers on how to bend the site towards a decent revenue. Take a look at feedbanditDOTcom and newsbanditDOTcom and let me know what you think, im not writing this topic to get 100 more unique hits but rather as i see myself participating as of now; this is one of the more interesting site for me as this is where my interests lie. Also i know that some of the content within the first site submitted here may infringe upon Googles TOS(as im featuring mature content, however not hosting directly on site), but as said im still finetuning my site and loosing some adsense bucks would be a small price to pay if everything else is done right. Adbrite pays better as it is now anyways And finally, sorry for lousy english, been a long day infront of the refresh button.
First one is not just a case of "may infringe", it IS against TOS/Policies given some of the material that you are linking to. Doesn't matter where it's hosted.
Im not directly hosting anything, except some videos, im feeding from rss using search parameters given by the user(most by popular search). So in a sence ur saying google is breaking their own rules? Try google for "ext: torrent" However your point is valid, tho so is mine;hence i've more or less fazed out adsense from feedbandit, just one ad block below video's to test it towards adbrite clicks, actually i implemented it just a few hours ago, will probably remove it in a couple aswell. Only thing im keeping is the Firefox referral button on pages not linking to suspicious activities. Or i might go soft and just keep the videos and make love to google.(but to be clear, i will not use adsense on feedbandit unless i change the layout and content, adbrite is my main there)
Google isn't breaking any rules since they make them Seriously, there is a big difference between what you can have on a site with ads and what is in their overall database AND what a person can buy ads FOR. You can buy ads advertising pretty much any site you want, but you as a publisher cannot display ads on sites which have that same type of content. And by content, I mean anything...just because you are pointing to something offsite doesn't get you off the hook in their eyes. You might either just change the content or pull adsense off the site completely. If your content is based upon popularity by search, I'd pull adsense completely as well. It is amazing looking at the search terms that get typed into on my site. My site has nothing to do with anything of that nature but it seems that when people see a search box, their imagination goes wild The percentage of odd ones I see is miniscule but they do appear from time to time.
Yes, as said your points are valid and perfectly clear. The adsense short glimpse of freedom on feedbandit is over. However my initial question remains, do you have any suggestions about directing my site(s) towards something more capital friendly in its layout? thanks!
