What do you think is a fair price to charge for a directory? I think PR3 and under should be free unless there is good traffic. A pr5 should be around 5-10 if theres some traffic and a pr6 should be around 15-20. thoughts?
What do you mean ? Is not everybody looks for PR of the page they will be listed? I don't believe one or two directories can send an astronomical number of traffic to a particular site. The main intention to get listed on a directory is to get a strong backlink for PR rather than expecting huge traffic. PR for a directory is the most important thing-.
Ive never had much traffic from directories. Maybe a little bit from each one and then a significant amount from all of them together.
I don't have that problem since I run a Bid for Position directory. Submitters decide what value to place on my pages. I never have to worry about price increases ... let the market decide. There are many reasons for choosing certain directory listings ... Anchor Text or Link Text is a major factor in search engine placement. Just do a search on Google for allinanchor:keywords. This will give you a list of sites sorted by the number of links using the keyword phrase. You will also notice it is very close to search results. Factors that affect value are ... Crawl Frequency is related to the number of inbound links to the site and will give you an indication of how quickly your link will be indexed. Supplemental pages is related to Crawl Rate, these pages are only crawled occasionally and your link may not be found for several months. on the other side the number of indexed pages help to determine if the search engines view the site favorably. Inbound links may indicate Page Rank. Since the toolbar is only updated quarterly there may be hidden PR that will only show after the next update (before price increases). I am sure there are more ...
Go to GII and look how much. Directory Dump, ewebpages and some others include mine. $15-20 is already way off the hook you get backlinks of quality, ROI don't expect traffic as even V7n and Aviva can't give you that much. Its JUICE nothing more, nothing less. Thanks
It seems the top dirctories charge more based on traffic they send through, even the biggest ones seem to send low traffic though. Its hard to say whats fair to charge since people will pay even for a pr0 directory.
Directory listings are paying for many things, the least of which is something like PR. I would take a look at the most popular directories, find out what they are charging and then come up with an average based on those amounts/directories to give a good idea of what one should charging.
Hello.. Im selective but much like popotalk commented its wide open to the skillz of the owner as well as many other factors that may or may not be present. We are definatly transforming and i belive for the better. thx malcolm
Yippie !! Though we know who just stick around at Solicitations and Announcements. (Stingy, I'm sorry Sticky) They are all useful and even at sitewides. I'll buy from them once they hit it with index pages and some PR.
I think if it's a niche you can charge more, people will pay to be included in a more relevant directory.
I charge $10/$50 for the following of my directories. http://www.everyquery.com (PR0) general http://www.drquery.com (PR5) medical directory http://www.moneyquery.com (PR5) financial directory http://www.realtyquery.com (PR5) real estate http://www.sciquery.com (PR5) science and math http://www.seoquery.com (PR5) SEO directory http://www.shoppingquery.com (PR5) shopping direcotry http://www.tripquery.com (PR5) travel directory http://www.unadir.com (PR6) general http://www.qettle.com (PR5) general http://www.zeoma.com (PR5) general http://www.hexdex.com (PR5) general
Premium submissions are what I deem to be a fair price to be at or near the category top and are good for 4 years.
