Scraping the Keywords of Your Competitors - Ringtones Example

    I heard about KeyCompete a few days ago and 'stole' literally thousands of keywords from competitors, including 7,666 from Jamster.

    Not sure how many of you have heard of it, but you can read more about it here if you haven't.

    Another way to "retrieve" the competitors keywords, if they have a website, is to check the metatags they use in the source code. Of course this means you have competition on the keywords, but put a higher bid on them and you'll have a success.

    So according to your example list "pimpmytones.net" is using keywords containing "free".
    Didn't AzoogleAds (that's the network being used), forbid this some time ago :p?

    Anyway, I'm still wondering where they get all those keywords from.
    The only technical and reliable way I can imagine, is by simply scraping the Google results for a huge list of all possible keywords and check which ads show up..

    Btw GADOOD, have you any idea what GADOOD means in Dutch :)?

    I don't think there's anything wrong in bidding on keywords containing 'free' - it's just the way you write your adverts.

    Aye I wish I knew for sure.

    LOL I don't.. although I saw an article on an Indian website saying the 'gadood' was part of the male genitals. :(

    What does it mean in Dutch? ..... (do I really want to know;))

    Yeah sorry you're right, I thought I read that somewhere but I just came across the following DP thread:
    Clarification on "free" ringtones & negative keywords :)

    Ga = Go
    Dood = Dead
    Which makes it sound like 'DROP DEAD' ;)
