Why CentOS a choice in webhosting industry? Not other distro?

I wonder why CentOS is so popular? Everwhere I checked on webhosting offers, CentOS is a choice.

Any good? BTW, currently I'm using FreeBSD..

Yep...free, very stable and maintained well.

 

Well, I use Centos because it resembles Redhat which I am familiar.

 

We also use CentOS on many of our machines. Centos is particularly nice because it has high support for things built in. It can adapt easy to our programming.

 

Suse = Ram eater
Fedora = Maybe at desktop
Debian = Its cool but not so many can use

There are some ultra performance distros based on gent00 but most of DCs dont know how to install or it takes a lot of time to install

 

my box is centos, but then again, my linux skills are terrible, so my vote means nothing.
