Its bit irritating to see that Dmoz taking longer periods to add new site list or in fact update the existing one. I have a textile website at this url http://www.yarnsandfibers.com which is listed in a wrong category and I'm waiting since more than a month's time to update my site to a new category. However Dmoz is conducting updations at an absolute snail pace. For the record just to remind you new site additions were not accepted since last October. But it has started acceptiing sites since mid of Feb 07. What can be done for this?? Are you also facing the same problem?? Please discuss about it. This delay is really showing the largest human edited directory in bad color.
From the category where your site is listed: "Last update: 9:53 PT, Wednesday, March 21, 2007" Is it that you're just not happy with your listing?
I wish it only took a month to get listed, but, on the other hand, I saw my rankings soar with Google for a targeted keyword after being listed.
How do you know that DMOZ thinks its listed in the correct category according to there guidelines and have just deleted your request to move it?
I agree totally, so why are there so many threads like this one complaining about not getting in (why the desparation?) or about the corruption? (Even if it is corrupt, why does it really matter if it has so little value?). I am fascinated with this
Because it is easier to blame one website for poor ranking then admit to being cheap lazy bum who just wants free things without giving anything back and without waiting! It would be really interesting to see how many people would REALLY pay for 24h listing, all those not getting listed threads would get replaced by why does it cost so much and that prices should be $2,99.
Ivan do u know anyone inside dmoz still who was ur partner in crime, u could get 50% commission that way ...
you keep joking Stained Glass Mafia runs the show and I have recently become made man after years of dedicated service, soon we shall be taking care of one rabbit... don't get suprised if you wake up with rabbit head in your bed (We got a local version with Camel and Giraffe )
I can tell you for sure that no editor denied an update request for your site, and I don't see an update request waiting. You should try again.
i wonder if they submitted an update url request or just sent an email, which would have been ignored.
