You really think Newt is going to give it a go? I sure hope that if he does, he makes a move very soon.
I am not American so I will not vote. However, while it is still too early to decide, from the limited press coverage I see, Obama seems to be intelligent and open to discussion.
I believe that Obama's popularity is based mostly on the fact that the public does not yet know much about him. A vote for Obama is simply a vote for "none of the above."
Nah! Really? I thought that over half the population was too lazy to get up off their asses to get out and vote. I guess all those politicians must spend 100's of millions of dollars for no good reason - You better email hillary straight away and tell her she don't need no money to campaign.
Which leaves the decision in the hands of the more competent half of the population. In the 2004 Presidential election, 55.3% of eligible voters turned out to vote.
I think it's too close to call. Either Giuliani or Edwards. I am going to say Giuliani. People don't trust Democrats on foreign policy and national defense, so they won't elect one to be President. The strongest contender for Pres from the Dem camp is Edwards, and I think people would not trust him on national defense. He just seems to lack credibility there, IMO.
It is just me or do you need to be a bit dodgee to make it to US president. Giuliani seems to be too much of a straight shooter for Washington DC- a place where Teflon seems to have been invented if you know what I mean.
I don't think much of Giuiliani's morals. He is a hard-nosed man, who knows how to blow people off in order to advance his political priorities. He constantly blew off concerned people in NYC when he advanced his goals of privatizing education in NYC, as well as blowing off complaints of police brutality (i.e. the sodomization of one person by several police officers).
Personally, I would rather see a Democrat win, but that's not a surprise since I usually vote Democratic. Not Hillary though.
I think he will...he already has tons of public support...I think he could easily pass giuliani as well.
Unfortunately Newt has as much bad publicity as good publicity. He's our Hillary. The Democrats really seriously hate Newt for beating them in '94. We would gain very few cross-over voters.
How is Edwards the strongest contender? He's training Hillary by 19.5 point and he's training Obama by 8 points. Hell, he's only leading that nutcase Al Gore by .3 points. That doesn't say "strong contender" to me. He's even managed to make his good looks work against him. That takes a lot of political ineptitude .
you didn't see the recent poll where half the people said they would not vote for shrillary....I still think she and osamabama are going to implode...
Obama seems to be campaigning for a VP slot. I don't see Hillary giving a VP slot to any sort of independent person unless it's politically forced upon her. Of course, she could choose Edwards. He doesn't seem to have independent brain function. He's the Matt Damon of politics.
