Is it possible to register 2 computers with the same Full windows liscence (not OEM)

I m about to buy Windows Xp but I m wondering if I ll be able to register my future laptop and my current desktop computer with the same liscence number.

Will I be able to get all the upgrades ?

yes, you can do it...the problem will be when you go to download updates, only 1 will be able to get them.

If you have a matched pair of Athlon MP processors and run them in 2 seperate machines as single processors you can get updates =)

 

Why would you want to get updates anyway, they just slow your PC down and mess it up.... I use to update all the time and it would just slow my PC down. Everytime I do an install on any PC the first thing I do is disable the stupid updater.

 

^^ Updates do slow down the computer. But they protect you from open doors. They basically patch up known issues which are opening for hackers into YOUR computer and YOUR personal information. So why wouldn't you update?

no. Update installs something onto your computer that is constantly running. Therefore takes up more RAM, hence slowing your computer.

When windows wants to install something, dont do express install, do custom and pick and choose which ones to install (they give details about what each fix does).

I had too much trouble with cracked or over-used validation code windows

I'm going to get a regular version to put on my new laptop use it as my main one and put it on my other computer just so I can get all the things that doesnt work on Windows XP X64...

I think it will work, even though it is illegal.
You need to shut down one PC, while doing update for the other.

 

The only mess that update brings your pc is their ugly filenames, otherwise it really gives you added protection/features (e.g. sp downlods). And the only time it slows your pc is when it's downloading and installing files. The mem usage of the updates themselves are pretty small and not enough to really slow your pc down.
