The fact that google has removed their PR tells me they don't think much of it. What makes you think it is a trusted site?

    I got it from here:

    http://www.seocompany.ca/directory/top-web-directories.html

Read the bottom and it says:

Note years that are green. Older sites are trusted by Google and rank well. These sites may provide more traffic.

It's an older domain, but since google removed its PR, it means they think the site has little value or was in the business of selling PR. The site isn't going to pass PR, and the only benefit would be if it brought you traffic - which I doubt. I wouldn't pay for a listing. That tool is just a guess - they have no inside method of knowing what sites google trusts.

Kool, I didn't knew that Google Removed their PR. BUT, if it's a trusted site, then why would google remove it?

No one but google knows what is a trusted site. It's a guess based on domain age - and from the looks of it, a bad guess.

I always believe --getting a particular backlink/getting listed with a site depends on priority of why one is listing!

If my target is to gain PR--I would always list on a page that will give me back a good PR backlink. --On the other hand --if I am looking for traffic and more exposure --I would not mind of PR linkback and list my site there if it gives me my required result.:p

Booth have backlinks to get at least PR5, don't know the story behind this sites, because they have google cache but not PR could be a temporary condition.

PR0 was like a scarlet letter around my neck.

I do not know why I lost PR but I do know that I did not deserve it.

Never did anything tricky with the sight. Inbounds there naturally from the days when there were few large directories online (1997).

A few of years ago I removed about 1000 pages from CannyLink that were related to Adult and Adult Star topics. Traffic and SE rank seemed to decline after that and PR0 followed. Those pages were added my the original owner of CannyLink and I did not care to be involved in that business. Could this action cause a penilty?

    Thanks
