???Red Reps???

Discussion in 'General Chat' started by MaryMary, Mar 30, 2007.

What are the reasons that you would give someone a red rep?

I often wondered why more people didn't give them out, but I found out today by giving my first red rep that it costs me a -1 on my own rep.

Is this the way it works or did this person red rep me back and not sign it?

:( Lost a point and now I'm cryin' Oh well I guess it was worth it..

I think it costs you one to red rep. And I think that if you are below 10 points you cannot rep anyone.

Rep is one way the community can say to another member we do not appreciate your way of doing business. It can serve as a self moderating feature in a forum.

And it costs you one important point lol. Spammers really deserve red reps but I won't recommend it if you have less number of positive points. :)

Wow, That's great news, where did you hear this. I want to buy Green reps lol

PS: don't red rep me for this post ha ha ha

When you click on disapprove you see this

"There is a "cost" of -1 reputation to you if you give negative rep."

    Hope everything is clear now.

I rarely ever give out red reps. I think I've only given one or two out for my whole duration at DP so far. Those were for people who really deserved them.

I just found out the same thing, I almost gave one out but it seemed like losing thing to do. The person deserved it but I didn't want to lose a point.

Mary you already lost one you want to take care of that for me ;) LOL

I try not to give red reps to anybody becuase I will have to bear 1 point for that. I dont have enoughs point to waste on those....people. But if you have a lot of points then sure, give them red rep as much as they get banned from DP :)

Well then I don't feel so bad because that is exactly what I used it for.:D

    Thanks everybody for your advice.

Also does anyone know if they are worth one point a piece? If so I think I missed a few somewhere along the way with it only showing the recent ones.

Sure... Greens on their way. :D But I must warn you, other members don't like people asking for greens. If you encounter such, they will bomb you with reds. :D

Don't get me wrong I wasn't asking for a green..I was asking for the link to the thread you started that gained you so many.

I simply meant that it looks like you have enough green to give as many reds as you like.

ooopps ... why is the REP so important? its important but not as much as:
Its not so good to cry if you lose a point. Just ignore it man! go help people in DP and you will get loads of GREEN REPs OR start funny & nice threads and u will get GREEN REPS.

    Thanks

    Photoshop,

Rep is important to me if I want to be able to tell someone that I didn't approve of them trying to low-ball me in the B/S/T area of DP.

I was cryin' because I had just learned that I would lose a green of my own if I wanted to give someone a red.

And this is for frank123: If I didn't sign that first red one, it's ~MaryMary
