Amazon just launch Context Links (Beta) program. It's work similar to Google AdSense just not PPC but PPS. Does anyone try it yet?
I always wanted the option to have affiliate links such as those coming from Kontera or VibrantMedia (Intellitext). The Amazon 'Context Links' simplifies the process of deep-linking. I found choosing the 'Match exact product names' option cuts down on linking to products unrelated to site content. As with Amazon in general - 'Context Links' works best with sites about books, movies, DVDs, gadgets, etc.
I just read an email from Amazon about it's context link beta program. Though I am very excited to try it out, I'm not sure if Amazon's context link can co-exist with Adsense.
I just received email today about it as well. I plan to try it out on one of my product review sites. I think it might work well, as denovo said ,on sites that are targeted towards products that Amazon offers.
I blogged about it last week and think I was one of the 1st with the news. Forgot to come here to share it. I have some examples of what they look like in the different formats too. http://affiliate-blogs.5staraffiliateprograms.com/2007/03/24/amazon-context-links/ To get to the links you just log into your Amazon affiliate account.
I set it up on every page of an existing site today, but there aren't many book choices that go with the content of the site...every page of the site seems to show the same two contextual links to the same two books. It took maybe half an hour before the links started showing. Got my fingers crossed that the system will "learn" the best products to offer.
what happens if u use this and kontera? so the payout is not by click but by getting a sales commission. hmm..
Hi chodomade, My name is Jack and I am an account manager here at Kontera. Our TOS is that other in-text providers may not appear on the same pages as our ContentLinks. In general, it is not a good idea to place two systems together, as they are competing to select the best words on the page, and this competition tends to frustrate the algorithm, rather than getting the best of both. You can always reach us at support at kontera dot com Regards, Jack Kontera Support
