After 1st week of work my boss said that I was on unpaid training & asked me to leave

The employer told me the news only after I worked for a week already. He said that he told me that before but I know he didn't. I've done a great job and at the end of a week asked him about my payment. He got angry, said that this was an unpaid training week and that he's not happy about me and I should leave the place. I wonder for how long I would have worked before realising that I wont get any money. I'm not even mention the overtime I did. Company is registered. No contract was given, only he took a photocopies of my passport and NI card. I've sent him an e-mail with my bank account details and wrote that I'm expecting to be paid in to it in the next week or two.. Is there any way to get my money? It was so unfair..

Don't know what country you are in but that is illegal in most. You could bring them to court for the one weeks pay.

Judging by the fact that he has started like 10 threads here, all in the wrong category, probably not. :D

But he is still entitled to payment.

Its not a great advertisement if thats the case since around 50% of the posts are in an innapropriate category.

The sandbox one made me laugh though.
