site appears on top with out any links

Hi all

I have seen a site which doesnt have links apart from his own internal page links but, the beauty is its coming on top for certain keywords (top in the sense for certain keywords the site is appearing on the 9th position of second page and 9th position of first page of the google search result

is it possible for a site to come up on top with out any in bound or out bound links

clear my doubts i am a beginner and i have got an opportunity to optimize that site .

yea it is possible to come on top without any inbound links.
post the links for i can tell u the proper reason why it is not top for particular keywords.
actually it is due to following reason
- proper title which contain the targeted keywords
- keyword reach content
- and good onsite optimization
- i think the competition is little bit low that might be one of the reason.

 

I think the main reason is low competition of keyword

 

Yes, its possible but there are few requirement for this.i list them in order of their importance
1.very less competition
2.title should contain exactly that keyword.
3.onpage optimisation
4.decent keyword density

 

Yes, It can be on top as long as it's onpage optimization is great and the keywords that the site used is not that competitive. What is the URL of that site?

Yes it's possible if the site is properly optimized in some elements that google consider like the on-page factor.

 

This can be possible when Key word competition is less, but i think you have to build links. by forum posting, directory submission, article submission other wise it will not able to compete against linkbuilded site.

 

Yep keyword competition less, the ol' "I was here first" syndrome works well with google, once you are there before others, you are good

 

Your content must e with the same keyword density.and the keyword should have a very low competition.

you guys are talking about the competition but, for the key phrase "Learning Management System Software" the competition is 153,000,000 in google then how come it is possible

 

majority of them or saying competition. let me tell you one thing for the key phrase "Learning Management System Software" the competition is 153,000,000 in google then how come you people can say competition as a reason for the site to come on top.

 

Maybe, because you offer something content wise that the others do not.

 

The question is "which top"? The top of a hill? or a mountain?

decent keyword density means that the searched keyword term should appear in the content decent number of times.
if keyword density is 2.5-3.5% ,it will be fine
