Selling 10% of my site for $10,000. I will buy it back for double within 6 months

I need to raise some money quickly. I have a site that gets millions of views a month and has lots of members and is worth around $150,000.-$200,000.

I need about $10,000 and in return I will give you 10% of my site.

I will also buy it back for double the price within 6 months.

I believe that a court would consider this a usurious loan, thus you would never be able to take the site if he didn't pay because a court would rule that he doesn't have to pay you back.

 

It would work. He would have to give over the site. They do it all the time. Or he could just put a lien on the business or sue the person. It would work if he wanted to do it that way.

 

You cant charge interest on a personal loan like that tho, charging that about of interest is illegal. 200% return in 6 months... kinda like loan sharking.

What about if the person gets all income generated by the buisness for the next 3 months- So they are at least seeing their 10k to use- If it is a 150k buisness then it should be generating money- If I lend you- I've got to be put on the company's llc docs or inc docs

 

you put a value on your site of around 150,000 - 200,000 dollars, first of all, your valuation has a difference of 50,000 dollars which makes me think this isn't a serious professional valuation, second, you are giving no details of guarantee that we would get 1 cent of that money back. The fact that you live in america doesn't make me feel any safer, plenty of fraud is done in america.

If you need the money, try digipawn or some similar service, pawn your domain or site for a couple of month then get it back.

 

It would be illegal in Canada, and most likely the US as well.

It's simply illegal to charge that high of an interest rate, it's written right into our criminal code.

Illegal contracts cannot be enforced, so the contract would be useless.

 

You said that you can pay back double (20k) within 6 months.
So in my opinion your web site has an approx. net income of 20k divided by 6, a bit over 3k dollars.

Sounds like you are a kid with no experience to offer such shady deals (10 percent with no guarantee, a 100 percent semi-annually interest rate, ....etc).

Who da hell cares if you live in New York area where corporate crooks also live, the vast majority of fraud is committed by American citizens, you should rather claim that you are Finnish and living in Laponia with Santa Claus.

What are your credentials? (we don't care that you hold a US id card and a rental contract in Brooklyn)
