My brother worked at Circuit ****** for 3 1/2 years (thank god he quit). he had a bunch of friends that used to work there, but most of them lost their job today. This just shows what kind of company Circuit City is. Its easy to say from an outsiders point of view that the company needed to cut costs etc... but you need to realize some of these people busted their ass for Circuit ****** for many years, and got nothing in return but "sorry, you're fired".

Not to mention, look at what they pay the CEO and other Exec's their.

Its horrible, sometimes I really hate big buisness. Always out to make a profit and not give a damn about their employees OR their customers.

They are not fired they will be laid off. With 10 Week Severance Package. CC thinks those 3400 are being over paid. I don't like that store. The one close to my home sucks and the ones not close to my home suck too.

There are very few companies that look out for employees. That is why you start your own gig and don't put yourself in situation where some one can walk up and say - adios amigo!!

They have tried to compete with to many companies...much like KMart did...however, they are the only ones that are loosing out...Best Buy has them beat by a long shot.

100% agree with you. Best Buy is a much better store, cleaner, brighter (this is key for a shopper) and always seem like a upbeat store and not outdated like CC.

its like walmart vs. kmart vs. target....whos going to win?

This is what's business is, it's all about the money. If i was in there place I would also do the same thing, you run a business to make money not to run some program to help out people to pay there rents. :)

these companies don't care about the employees. If you worked in one these big companies all you are is a number. It wouldn't matter if you were there 30 years or 1 year you are still a number, they can get rid of you anytime they want to. They want you there everyday to work, but when it comes down to it, you are only a number. I have worked for very large companies and the employee is nothing to them, they could care less about you.

I concur. I rarely if ever shop @ CC. We have a store here, Fry's, it's 8.4 times better than Best Buy and 27 times better than CC.

I wonder how Radio Shack has held out as long as they have!

    I totally agree.

Ahem...no, they got PAID...just like they were promised...no more, no less. No one ever promised them job security or a career.

were you abused sexually by your boss or what? :p
    why does it suck?

that you can buy more than 1 type of computer memory(and other components) @ Fry's vs. BB's "selection" is enough for me to vote Fry's over BB any day of the week and twice on Sunday. :)

LOL - I would have enjoyed that sexual abuse - she was one hot chick - trust me, people envied everybody that worked at camera sales ;) Don't like their sales tactics. I will have to give them rep for selling small items so that you can go and build your own (whatever you want).
