Please take a look at my dynamic content, I'm showcasing all the latest in electronic gadget's and gizmos --> www.theDailyDangler.com I still need to finish and install my header graphic and resolve the validation errors. It's the dynamic content that I was working hard on and finally got it where i'm happy with the result. Hope you are too.
The site is great, every thing is fine, everything is clean. When clicking on a category, it takes much time to load. Also work one the name of the subfolder it looks like: http://www.thedailydangler.com/default.asp?Category=11 better use http://www.thedailydangler.com/think-geek..... good luck with your site.
Actually, that's the query string. I could rename the query string but then it would mess up the way the control panel of the site works. This was a big experiment in producing dynamic content. I'm hooked on ASP for this and I'm surprised how many people use php. There's a lot of good and free asp resources out there.
I just expanded my first review. Has anyone had experience with article submission services? I am thinking of submitting my first web article to the article sites to get some exposure. Any Ideas?
amzin website....anyways rideswitch......i got an amzin buisness proposal for u.....do mail me back if ur interested to
Great functionality there. Nice site too. Just curious, how long have you been programming? Whats your experience with asp? how long?
I have been doing asp for about 6 years at least. I was a contractor for many years before getting into real estate investing. Now that and my family takes most of my time. I do the websites as a side hobby and hope to make some extra cash with it eventually. I'm also looking to add to my side asp gigs. Why do you ask? You have my curiosity peaked...
You have a bit more on the validation errors, mainly looks like cut/paste was to blame! <H1>1Tb DVD Sized Disc - The Teradisc</H1><br> See the <br>, without <br />? You have allot of them, as well as declaring a div's ID twice...
You got it... that's the part I don't like to do. I have a question about validation though. If the page displays correctly, what is the point of code validation besides "best coding practice"? Don't get me wrong, i'm not against it. I just wonder what's the point? Does it help with SEO or PR? Is it just "best practice"? Is it for web browsers for the blind?
I would add another BG color (pale light brown) on the right and left side of your content area, so it doesn't look so empty.
Your point is well taken - and just about EVERY website out there does NOT validate! The reasons why we should code to standard are tri-fold. Firstly, just like in any spoken language, there are rules to the grammar we use. (X)HTML is a language (machine), and as such, there are rules to its use. Now, whether we want to follow those rules or not is up to us. The majority say, "Hey, if my webpage is viewable, WHO CARES?" I call that mentality the "Ebonics of web design" Secondly, accessibility plays a key role in what we (professional) web designers do. If we are NOT creating Standards-compliant markup, it goes without saying that our pages will NOT be accessible (like you've stated about blind users) to the 15% of Americans who have a disability of some sort. 15% doesn't seem like allot, but that translates into Millions of People! Thirdly, SEO basics can be achieved through standards-compliant coding. Ok, off my soapbox now
its just a blog basically, personally i think it should be revamped to appeal more to viewers. just my opinion
Simple and clean layout For more traffic try link exchange PM if you are interested in link exchange Good luck!
I got your point. I had enough code validation when I was doing this full time. I agree with you on a professional level. There is something fun about ebonics coding and it's that I get to put together a fun site and post it... i'm not looking to get huge dollars and it's not for a high paying customer. it's a fun site... blog... We be bloggin bra...
I came across this article, Atari goes portable, http://www.thedailydangler.com/default.asp when updating the dangler today. And I was blown away. It is a hand held unit that plays the old Atari games... can you believe it? I enabled the archive functionality so now you can check out the old gadget postings. I can not believe how much new stuff comes out every day!!!
Nice site. Can you put sub-categories under the left navigation bar? It may make it easier for folks to zero in on what they want.. I can see once you have a lot of content, it may become difficult to find something particular.. Regards Mo
