Post count decreesed :(

Hello DP members,

Today i found my post count has been decreased. Is it someone have deleted my posts?

couple of days back i celebrated my 500th post & today i saw there are 490 only


is it a bug?

I am not sure if deleting posts is practiced here, but does it really matter that much?

of course not, but somewhere down the heart it hurts. and if it happens after my announce of 500th post it pains more !!

I'm not sure what the problem is. Did you join to partake in some kind of posting contest? Or, did you join to participate and learn? What difference does a few posts make...even after you "announced" your 500th post (a practice of some members I find quite comical). If you need that attention, buy a puppy. No offense intended...I guess I just don't understand, but then again, I don't understand a lot of people on this forum.

if you have been padding your post count with meaningless post, your post number will decrease when a mod see it

 

I always said you have excellent taste, acute insight and are an immpecable judge of character!...

I guess they got deleted because some of your comments had nothing to do with the topic of the post.. This is the only way I see it getting removed..........Just keep posting your very close to 500 again why stop now...

 

Some of your posts might have been deleted by the mods because they think they have no value. Didn't you receive an infraction or warning for padding up post count? If not, you're lucky and don't push that luck. Make useful posts.

honestly i am not paddign post counts .. this may be happened in entertainment section ... as if some one sends a joke .. i tend to reply my emotions and thanking poster for sharing it on DP ...(I don't see its a kinda a post moderators should object.)

Anyways i was just expecting if it is possible for any moderator to give me exact reason so that i can avoid my mistakes. and keep my posts and forum browsing experience best to my abilities.

BTW, what reasons are you still looking for? They don't just delete posts for fun. If they think that the post has no value or was just made for increasing post count, then they delete it. Just make sure to make good posts next time.

The reason is because there was a guy posting tons of pictures (starting a new thread for each) with hidden links. I think most of them were deleted.

You had cut and paste "thanks for sharing the pics" in every one of them.

You are probably lucky you didn't drop down to 250 posts

 

Did you get an infraction?
Did you make a lot of posts in the Intro section?

of late there has been a increase in number of spammers in DP ! I think its time for mods to act and stop these spammers

 

Hello Sir,

Before commenting anything you gotta understand the situation.

If moderators thing i am spammer they can ban me, and by the way you don't have any right to call me spammer.

I had been a honest user & will remain in future. Though people are saying i have copied and pasted the posts is not correct at all. those were really an honest opinions if you can find some time most of my reply are having relevance to the thread.

Anyways there is not a point doing arguments.

Appeal for moderators: First of all thanks for resolving my doubts and helping me understand my mistakes. I will take care of not repeating it in future.

This thread is as good as closed for me now.

yfs1 FYI, really enjoy reading posts under Entertainment section. but from now i will take care before posting reply.
