well the most important variable is traffic. traffic equals eyeballs who click on your ads which makes you money.

On here there are tons of sites for sale and from the 100 a day 99 are identical or a rehash of something already done. Uniqueness is something to factor in. Custom script or is it a ready made turnkey?

Depends on the names overture and alexa.

There are lots of other things. What I have learned is to check the age of the domain, check where the traffic comes from and dont believe and rev stats.

If it was registered 2 months ago and they claim its the best site in the world and show you tons of traffic it is what I call a pump and dump. Start a site and pay for traffic, get some rev going and offer it for sale. Claim that it makes xxx and in reality the site is worthless.

    The value of a website?
As a rule of thumb: Monthly revenue X 10-12.

Depends really on the site, but you usually see them go from 5-20x monthly revenue, depending on PR, traffic, etc.

Traffic, whats included (licenses, design(s) etc...), time you put in it and the domain name value. Also income is a big one.

Just type your url in http://www.dnscoop.com and it will give all the particulars about your site including its sale value. Go and check it and if satisfied, don't hesitate to green rep me :)

I agree to this. Other things that can be taken into consideration are the site design, number of visitors and potential to increase its revenue.
