Great news for the .us extention. VIDEO.us sold for $75,000 2007-03-27 on AfterNic.

Not mine, but wish I owned it!

Agreed, the price is too high for the domain.
It would have been a good price for it's .com or .net counterpart.

But US citizens are much interested in Video sites. Every new video site from USA starts earning $$$$ in no time, and after three or four months its on SitePoint Marketplace for sale, as owner faces copyright issues :D

For a .com it'd be a fantastic price! I'd buy it for $75k then sell it for a couple of million instantanously cause that's how much it'd be worth for it.

I think if someone sell vedio . com he should expect 7500000$ for this. isnt it?.
.com have way more value then any other in market

the dot com may be "worth more", but it was probably "worth" so much that the buyers decided not to bother, and went for the .us instead.
As for whether they overpaid, well they had a budget to spend on a good domain name, and they got the best one they could find. So in that sense, they got their money's worth.
The owner was lucky. There are plenty of other names that are as good or better, that are sitting around with no buyers.
