Hello everyone, for those who know the answer, please point me to the right direction. Here is my situation. I own quiet a lot of websites, make money off those websites and I would like to start a company so I can file my expenses under the company name. I am doing everything at home so my question is. Should I register the company name as LLC, INC or DBA? I want to know which type of company is good for home based business. Thanks.
Dba realy is just a name. It is same as doing business as you personaly. Only difference is company name and Tax id number. LLC and others have advantages with liability. It all depends on what type of business. Will you ever be sued or could you be sued. If so Dba is not way to go.
You should talk to a CPA. No one can give you the right answer without knowing a lot more details about your situation, including liability protection goals, if any. Taking direction off a message board post would be a mistake. If all you want is to put expenses under the company name, you just need to file a DBA. This isn't needed to write-off your expenses.
I do some web design, some seo, but mostly affiliate marketing. I will definitely try to consult a CPA. Thanks guys.
