How can you avoid the Troll under the bridge?

I've seen a lot of people that start a topic of type X, make it as inflammatory as possible, get people riled up, and then there's a huge argument started in it. As soon as this cools down, sometimes even while it's still a middling hot topic, they then post a new one... and it starts to seem like all they are trying to do is get some money from adsense with all the views they generate. A recent example, at least in my own opinion, is Nehemiah, who insults anyone who even tries to discuss something with him, says anyone who disagrees with him is uneducated, or stupid, or lying, and seems generally just not to be a very nice person.

So I'm wondering if anyone has found any techniques to try to stem this tide of money to people they dislike, once it becomes apparent they won't stop when you try to discuss things with them reasonably.

    Perhaps infractions? Perhaps thread ratings?

The only thing I can think of, really, is just leaving their threads entirely alone.

By getting from under "the bridge", yourself!

And Mr. Epitome of Politeness, just who are you calling "the Troll"?

    But that aside, Remember:

    JESUS CHRIST
    +nothing
    =EVERYTHING!

Isn't it nice that I'm not nearly as insulted by your "opinion", as you are by mine?

It is written: "A double-minded person is unstable in all his ways".

At what point did I say that I was insulted? I merely said that I felt you were being rude, and trolling, based on your posts.

I don't think the adsense revenue really adds up to much. Maybe they are profiting another way  Maybe they just like being antagonistic ;)

Eh, not sure how much adsense would add up. You may be right that it's not worth much.

But any ways you can see to try to decrease trolling?

If it's a thread bad, people have to ignore it. Of course a lot of people get online to argue, since they don't want to in real life. Or, in some cases, it could be supplemental arguing :)

    *chuckles* Alright.

I suppose that's why there are so many threads devoted to the statement "You're wrong".

I've seen this a billion times on other politics sites. The best thing to do is to find yourself a good politics site to post on. There's always gonna be a lot of harsh fighting (oftentimes with idiots involved) on most politics forums.

It's not your opinion that people find insulting, it's the fact that you keep insulting people for not thiking the same way as you, what you have isn't a faith, it's an illness, and a massive personal defect.

Whoever this person is, he can start by not calling people "AT's" and "AG's." That's just fucking stupid. They are called atheists and agnostics, not "ATs" and "AG's."
