    Hi,

I must send $120 at the end of next month to India. The recipient only has a ICICI bank account - any suggestions ? I could apparently send a paypal cheque but how long will that take to arrive/clear ?

If you want to send this amount quick and can pay fees around 15-25$ then I'll suggest go for Western Union (Already discussed in a thread above though). They are good, fast , relaiable and highly professional.

    www.westernunion.com

You can use paypal but he needs to withdraw the funds via cheque from paypal .You can use western union money transfer but they charge good fees but it will be a fast method . Wire transfer is also a possiblity but I am not sure if it will be worthed for this amount . You can even use moneybookers but paypal is better than moneybookers .
Lots of ways to send payment . Pick your choice !!

Yes Just use Xoom, He can make a Xoom account and then you can transfer the amount to his Xoom account. After that all he has to do is transfer the funds to his bank account via Xoom.
Keep in mind that in order to transfer the funds, his name on the bank account should be the same as on the Xoom account.
Use Bank Transfer and Not Pick Up Facility.
Use the Code XOOMLATINO to avoid Xoom fees :)

    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Kulwinder.

I am from India. Can I make my own account at xoom then transfer my money in my local ICICI Bank Account?

what if first I send my money to xoom from paypal then in my ICICI to xoom?
Can I do this? Is this legal?

    How this code(Code XOOMLATINO) works?

Yes you can make own Xoom account and use it to transfer funds from paypal to your bank account. Its complete legal :)
Just dont use the Pick up facility and dont forget that your name on the bank account should match to that of the Xoom account.
You will get the option of using codes when you will be filling the form to transfer your money.
Use XOOMLATINO 2 times and after that use Jim 2 times. When these are done, just delete the old account and make a new 1 so you have to pay no fees :)

    Cheers,
    Kulwinder.

Yes, my friend Arvind Srivastava has verified this from an Xoom executive :)
Its completely legal as long as you use bank transfer.

Thank you Sar, appreciate it :)

Is it for Remittance purposes? Only NRIs can send money to relatives in that case.

    Regards,
    Kulwinder.
