Good thing about PPA- some advertisers allow incentivized ads. Lesser or nill chances of getting banned.
So we will see if it succeed. I think there is a place for both options, and I take this as a good thing.
Most if not all of google's venture's have been successful. And after looking at the success of cj and other affiliate companies it will certainly be successful.
Another thing to consider - If publishers are making less money, it's likely that Google is making less money also. This is not the end of PPC you guys... I've seen this before. For those of you who were around back in the beginning of all this, you'll remember that eAds and Valueclick were where the PPC money was at. eAds paid .10 per click, and valueclick paid .17 - and we were happy. Things change, new models emerge. You just have to roll with the punches. Everyone thought PPC was dead years ago, and it's bigger than ever today. PPA has been around FOR YEARS. If it was going to kill PPC - it would have done it already.
Well I signed up when I first heard about it... but I was told it's only for US publishers.. I'll give it a go on one of my sites... i'm not totally against the idea!
Depends on what kind of month im having but it's high xxx to mid x,xxx Some of us make more then enough to live off of, im not dependent on adsense! I have a real job, but it's nice to be able to set aside some money for my childs education.
I mentioned most of you. Most of the people brood about them being smart price or not earning much. If same traffic is applied to ppa I am sure they would be making much more.
Smart pricing is also a BIG problem. I just wish another PPC would come out that was decent... and treated publishers like they should be!
Like I said before ppc is not a perfect game. But all other companies copy google, Therefore you can't expect anything much but the same treatment from them.
I _am_ dependent on AdSense. However, remember that the PPA people have to pay enough to get ad space! If they don't produce any revenue for the publishers and Google, their ad won't be shown - the PPC people will take their place. So this isn't necessarily awful... they'll have to make the price per acquisition high enough to be competitive with current PPC rates.
from an advertiser point of view...this is great for me. I sell a $50 product, I would gladly pay $15 or $20 commision for each sale.
PPA is a good thing for publishers IF the minor details can be worked out in a fair manner.. In essence, PPC prices are relative to pay per actions in the long run. No advertiser is going to pay more in PPC than he/she is making from the advertisement. for the publishers, If your top showing ads are consistent as mine are, that means the advertiser is making sales off your ads or else he/she wouldn't stay in business. A fair percentage of the advertisers earnings will most likely be more than the 6 cents you receive per click. Dont worry about google showing crappy ad's that don't convert. Google always shows most relevant ads and most converting ads first. Google wants to make money too, so they certainly will not clutter their best positions with crap ads. It is also good because the advertiser will have less risk, and less chances of losing money, so Plenty more NEW advertisers will emerge, and when more advertisers come, payout prices go up for the publisher. Not to mention weeding out the click fraud will directly help your bank. The only downfall I can think of as of now is a senerio like this example. I own toys.com and display an ad which a surfer clicks and doesn't convert. The next day kidtoys.com (a different site) refers the same surfer to the same ad, and the surfer converts. Who gets the sale? Should it be me cause I brought the surfer there first, or my competitor because he closed the deal? Im OK with the new change, and I look forward to hearing more
The only thing that I hope is that publishers will still have the option to chose between PPC and PPA and that we will have enough PPC ads to display relevant ads in our sites. If that happends then I will have any problems promoting both.
I think this is bad for google also .. if we get paid only for example one click of 100 ( google is also paid for that click )......
If it was bad for google than why would it even consider it? Pay per action is way bigger than pay per click. Look at all other affiliate companies and search for their annual revenues.
