All other pay per click companies would be thinking of pay per action already. We all know they follow google.

Depends on how and where you place them on your site.

Navjot Singh Sidhu, you have to remember that there is world of products out there. Some will convert more than others. In terms of people switching over to FF, its not always necessary whereas some other products will be more keenly sought after.

cookies for ever? Is that really posible? Do you mean even I clean my browser cookies and cache still the cookies remain? If that is possible then I guess my PC and business is at risk.

I don't think PPC will go away Google makes too much money with it. PPA will just be another option for Google to offer advertisers. They want a piece of the action that CJ and other affiliate programs have.

There's already big guys in the PPA world - take CJ for example...

Google is right now the biggest PPC out there, and if they do this.... and alot of the advertisers leave PPC for PPA... google will be out a TON of income.

My sites will not make money via PPA - I will definitely be finding an alternative.

I like the PPA concept as I would like to have an alternative to PPC that could make me money. As a publisher, I would want a better selection of ads on my site and I want people to pay for that privilege of accessing their site through Google PPAs on my site. If the revenue goes down, then I'll come up with an alternative to AdSense -- they aren't the only way to monetize your site.

No cookies CANNOT be kept forever, unless they are placing the files elsewhere on your computer (which I don't think is possible...) ?

I know myself, cookies are cleaned whenever I close firefox = no hope for anyones referral cache that may be stored.

It is marked at the merchant server not your pc. It lists the visitor as your referral.

It is marked by the merchant website depending on what affiliate software they are using. I've had it several times, whereby I still get sales from customers I referred in the past many months ago.

Google is way bigger than cj. Also ppa would not be as cheap as ppc for the advertisers. Therefore if your thinking google would not many much money I would say think again. They already have a huge list of advertisers lined up for pay per action. They would jump on it as soon as it gets out of beta which would inturn would lead to more competition and increment in prices.

Too many advertisers = competition = more money for google.

It would eventually go away if they would not have the advertiser base. Most of the big advertisers would definitely go for pay per action. Even if they continue with ppc either it would pay very low per click to the publishers or google might have to fire many publishers for not having enough advertisers to support adsense ppc.

I know for one, 90% of my sites would not make money from PPA. Why? Because it's not aimed a niches who have a ton of money to spend.

All im saying is, if advertisers leave the PPC for PPA, I for one will not be one heavily involved with it.

Alot of advertisers + little publishers = LITTLE income for everyone.

Publishers - don't get too worried. Without us, there is no PPA. If you don't think that PPA will be profitable for you, don't switch. Publishers aren't going to switch from PPC to PPA if it is hurting their bottom line. PPC will not die out as a result. Advertisers won't have success with the PPA model unless publishers cave to it.

Not to mention that tracking is a nightmare. I can't even count the number of people I've seen leave CJ due to the inability to properly track conversions, etc.

Here's a little inspiration for you. This is what I made with ff back in mid or late 2006 with "pay per sale". This is what I made with the same amount of traffic I was sending adsense and making nothing much.

I understand your business point, but there is the other too. Only for example - you buy your ad in adwords but your service is really bad and customers after visit your site will don't make any action - why I have to take this risk and responsibility on me? I chose PPC and then advertiser have his exposure and what use he will do with this, it's his own risk.
