Hello, Today I've thought a funny thing: "FAKE REP". What if someone give a fake rep by using this way: If you hate someone and want him to get some RED REP. Forexample: i hate Shawn(p.s: i dont hate him).... Then what if you give a RED REP to someone without any reason and use this comment: "hey! You’re a f****, f*** u! - Shawn". Then when that member see in his "UserCp" that someone has given me a RED REP without any reason. Then he will SURELY go and give a red rep to "Shawn" and use tooo much bad words. .... Is there any solution for this problem? P.S: It didn't happened to me, but i am just wondering. Thanks
I think Shawn is the only one who can find this out if it ever happens. And I think an infraction for Rep abuse can also be given. --Joe
huh? you mean this is insignificant?.. Its not insignificant. It can work if you give it try. Almost any member can be cheated using this way Hmm.. but it will be so much harder to search for FAKE REPs everday
I've never really understood why anyone would make reps count for anything (neg. reps do have consequences here) when they can be given anonymously, and for absoluely no reason.
no, it is not possible, as no one gives the name, when they give out red reps. so, if any red rep is followed by a name, then you should belive that the reps are not provided by that user!
I always give my full user name "Jim Guinn" when I give out red reps. I am not going to worry about "retalaliation". That's the way children play. If that happens enough times to the point I get banned, oh well.....I'm not going to lose sleep over it.
vB allows you to turn on and off the name on the rep system. and DP has it turned off, they can turn it on any time they want too easy fix to a "small"? problem
hmm? I leave my name with my red reps - I think it's good to make yourself accountable, instead of just leaving comments that say "You are an idiot". It's not helpful. But I think that people should be sensible about getting and giving them. In case people think that I will be a good target for sending evil reps - you should know that I know people, and you'll get banned - but more often than not, if you are being an idiot like that, you will just get yourself banned Both times the people who were given red, contacted me and I was able to help them fix up the probs that they had made - we are now friends.
Using another person's name while giving red rep is one of the most stupidest things to do, and if I am not wrong, rep abuse is treated as a very serious issue here
YEH! its really the stupidest thing. The only solution is: -------------- But if someone use the "FAKE REP". Then the user have will PM the member mentioned in the REP. And then they will quarrel ... Like: "Hey!! why you red rep'ed me? what was the reason??? you idiot!!!".. "huh? you are an idiot! i didnt gave you a red rep........!!!!!!!!!!!!" ...

Well if the mods catch that guy then he is surely going to get banned or get an infraction for this. I also thought about this and thought it yesterday. But after all who cares. If we make good informative posts then people are shooting greens from everywhere. So one or two reds doesn't matters.
