Hm well I've never used Digg myself but I was pleased to find an article I wrote was put on Digg so yeah...

 

A lot of those will get your link on the front page for a little while too. Others even have good PR on the inner category pages. Great for SEO.

Digg only, sometimes. But use social bookmarking rather rare...

But only digg, magnolia, netvouz is the social bookmarking site that generate
traffic for our site.

 

For me Stumbleupon, digg, blinklist and listible is the best.

 

how does submission to these social book-marking sites compare to submissions in directories? assuming same PR? are they the same effect?

 

Actually social bookmarking sites is mainly use to get more traffic. It can boost your site traffic.

 

but i'm sure it contributes to your PR too?

In terms of traffic, it depend entirely on the content of your website, and the target audience of the social network.

I've seen huge variations in traffic sources (from social sites) from one niche to another.

 

- the best one that work for me is squidoo and my lens about "free seo tools" after just one month rank =34
- the second is blinklist,
- I test now bloglines and mybloglog and stumbleupon.
