So I was cruising around today and saw some .uk ads being shown on random YPN ads...so I checked some my sites, and I had some as well....I wonder if this means they are closer to going out of BETA since they are getting advertisers from other countries?
uk, austrailian and canadian ads have been popping in and out for at least the last 6 months. whats really crazy is that if you have a user from the uk and they click that uk ad.... you dont get paid!
Maybe! Does anyone know for a fact that ypn does not pay for international clicks? Does it also mean that the advertiser do not have to pay for the click?
they have stated that they dont pay for international clicks and implemented a geo filter that counts int clicks as invalid (still shows ads to international visitors though). of course, if a us visitor clicks that ad, you will get paid. fact? who knows. ypn themselves are probuably not 100% sure.
could be linked to panama with bigger firms being given a head start? http://www.jensense.com/archives/2007/03/yahoos_panama_a.html
thanks for the link. i have been slacking on keeping up with jen's page. interesting quote from that article; "I also asked about when the Yahoo Publisher Network would be available to UK and/or European publishers, and the answer wasn't as soon as Panama. Panama is the priority launch at the moment, so YPN is more on the backburner until then. But I am keeping my fingers crossed that Panama will go international by the end of 2007."
Geez, let's not start again, okay? There are already 5 billion other "when is it going international" thread out there.
I know for a fact that neither Canadian or UK clicks are counted in terms of revenue. I emailed YPN ahead of time with a time and date that I would run a test, and had 5 canadian internet users and 5 UK internet users each click once on an ad that I put in a specific channal. Neither of the two channels reported any income for the day.
