Clear up my confusion once and for all please....

I am being told by the SEO forum that my meta keywords don't affect adsense and the ads it displays at all.

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=274190

Is this correct? I have changed my keywords after reading this advice but I am still concerned. Before I had keywords that targeted battlefield, computers, computer hardware, and more from that genre.

The ads that battlefield will display will be low paying ads and there is no guarantee that people will click. My philosophy was to try and target not only battlefield ads but ads from computers, forums, computer hardware, etc. Am I thinking about this the wrong way?

    Help please.

Yes you can blacklist those MFA sites..

Optmize meta tags and content too to get relevant ads.

Ok, I appreciate the responses but these replies haven't answered my question.

p.s. I may have to add some of these ringtone ads to the blacklist.

Adsense does not only look at the META keywords, but all phrases/text on your site. So if you metioned flowers and flower arranging in your meta keywords but kept with the same frontpage text about battelfield, its still going to show battlefield type adverts. the only way your going to alter the type of adsense ads it to alter the majority of the sites text to a different theme

You can use section targetting to improve the relevance of ads.

Meta tags, title, headers <h>, bold text, text it self, image tags "ALT", URL, all of these things effects your SEO and ADS so why the heck it's contextual anyway, don't forget that adsense is not like kontera scanning your site after getting downloaded and viewed, the bot visits it then show ads instantly before the request, and it's much more like the crawling bot ...
