Hey guys I'm sorry, but usually mods for programs are availble from websites. Hence I thought this mod might also be having a website. Thanks for the replies :)

Deep links, additional link types etc. is really not so hard to code and anyone with some (not so much) php+smarty experience can do that in his own way. I did in my way and I know few other webmasters can easily do that too.

That may well be true, but there are a few points to keep in mind. How much of your time is it going to take to develop a solution that already exists? After development, how much time for testing? Do you really want to put something live on your directory that has not been extensively tested and confirmed working and reliable? If a problem comes up, you have no one to complain to but yourself. :) ...and then more work for you. Anyway, the reason I linked to Rob is because he has a solution for this that exists now, and it is very good, well done, and reliable. Plus, it was Rob's original idea and invention.

You are not right. My deep links and also deep links on some other dirs were implemented sooner than Rob did his mod. :)
I could easily build same mod then. But my intension was to have something that can differ my dirs from other and not to share it to other users.
Rob did it and it's his choice. His mod. I have no problem with that and I'm not going to duplicate it.
But there's always an option to build something similiar for your own dir and implement it in other way, eg. more friendly for the user, etc.

There's no way to prove it. What if I said I thought of it years ago but didn't implement it? Give it a rest. Your Mod is oh so similar though, it makes me wonder.

I do not have to prove anything to you. Knowing it is enough for me. Also enough is to look at some featured listings with deep links date added. And deep links on many other dirs I've also seen so long time ago... I even submited some.

So what is the point of you being in this thread?
.... with an attitude to boot?
Is this what i can expect from you in the future?

Darge im sure you are very good at making mods
again.... i know youve got skillz.
Instead of sitting here bickering you could come out with something else that helps diferenciate
the free from the paid ( The Men from the Boyz) and at a premium price.... :)

The way i see it is that the directory business is only getting more competitive
and the landscape is changing daily....

we hope that you will also be thier to offer us different and important mods in the future....
but just in your own thread...

    thx
    malcolm
