There are about 5 vBSEO threads here, that were posted in the last 12 hrs. Check them all and check vbulletin.com/forum.

I would say use Zoints, it's free and may help out. I don't think $149 for vBSEO is worth it. Your better of buying a new vB licence. There are no straight facts that vBSEO works, or not.

The vB team even says the default SEO in the vB is already good enough. :)

Because they want to save people money and hassles. If they really noticed vBSEO made a noticable difference, then they would support it for sure.

vbulletin doesn't support ANY hacks ;)
vbseo, vblogetin, gars, visionscripts profile hack, there are really a number of add-on's that "vbulletin doesn't support" ;)

The only reason why you support vBSEO and wether you want to admit it or not, is because you get refferal cash from them. It's simple as that and many other members on DP know it.

True vB doesn't support hacks, BUT they do look at which ones are good. Or ones that are good enough to put in their software. Also many vB staff members have their OWN forums too. I've seen some of their boards and they do use some vB hacks. I'm surprised that none of them used vBSEO? Why? Because the truth is you don't really need vBSEO.

BTW, all those referals you get, allows you to purchase a $149 vBSEO. Not all of us are like you, trying to manipulate people into buying something they don't even need. If they are REALLY wanting a SEO, just get Zoints or other free ones. vborg has atleast 5-10 free SEO's. It doesn't hurt to try a FREE product. How would people feel if you paid $149 for a product and found out it doesn't do jack for your forum... and your not going to get your money back from vBSEO.

    vBSEO should be cheaper!

vB staff members does not use vbseo because they dont care seo enough and/or not experienced on it enough! They know how they can develop a great forum but that is all. Not everyone know everything well. Everyone has priorities! E.g. Java is a great language in overall but Sun made big mistakes in GUI side and they are making wrong choices in several other areas.

vBSEO team does not know vbulletin as much as vB staff members. So they can make mistakes in their codes but they are not regular vbulletin owners and i am sure that they know vbulletin internals enough to develop a hack.

I did not buy vbseo yet but will buy it for my forum.. So i am not affiliated with them.

words? it's a fact if someone searches your posts, you yourself admit you get cash rewards for refering people to vBSEO.

Mabye that's how you purchased your licence. You refer others and make money off them, once you have enough, you buy a vBSEO licence :p

I've used vbSEO on my large forum (30,000+ members). At the time I didn't know enough to see what effects it had on the site... but i certainly love their features.

If you've got the money, go for it.

its not needed. sure the urls look nice but there are free alternatives that do the same thing.

Vb comes very optimized. most of the larger forums, Such as DP, don't even use it and they are still active and are top ten results for many searches.

Why do you guys keep saying this? DP has lots of backlinks, has great reputation and well managed. These are the reasons of its success. Showing that DP is does not use keyword-rich urls is worthless. It is like saying, hey Gates does not use Java and he is very rich, Java is not needed to be rich. Try to think clearly!

That is right vbulletin is very optimized for search engines. That is a nice feature but it does not have urls in an optimized form. And i am sure DP's traffic will becomes at least twice if they use keyword-rich urls. That is a decision to have keyword-rich urls or not. But it is very valuable in my experience (and i am sure for most of other guys here).

And there are free alternatives for vbseo. You can use them but dont forget that free can be a big trouble for you in the long term. I just paid 800$+ because of a well known open-source component of joomla. The reason: it does not scale well and the maintainers did not fix this on time.

I should admit, if there is a high quality free or cheaper product doing url-rewrite for vbulletin forums, i would buy it instead of vbseo! But currently, as far as i see, the healthiest solution is to buy vbseo for me.

forum can give more traffic for the site. but choose forums with high traffic and with a lot of people . have you tried the article writing and social bookmarking, it will boost traffic for your site. What is the meaning of VBSEO?
