from thousands searches daily to... 78 a month...

I just achieved top place in google (within weeks too! I guess I was lucky) for my niche's keyword. But then I checked the overture tool and the monthly searchs for feb 2007 was only 78 a month! Initially when I started searching for this keyword, it use to be thousands a day.

What should I do with this site?

 

Is it something seasonal? "halloween recipes" gets more searches near halloween than anytime else, etc.

Is it something that has happened already? (Superbowl , etc)

If neither of those two are true: Rethink your keywords, everyone else has.

 

It's from an "event" and "discovery" that happened.. so I guess the hype died down? It's still a mystery and something else might pop up... so I guess I can keep it?

 

Did you check on the overall number of searches?

 

May be your keyword was having a seasonal buzz

 

What does www.google.com/trends show. Perhaps its worth keeping this site till the next discovery.
