SO I made a forum 5 days ago and I already have: 16 members 61 Threads 182 posts Is that pretty good stats for only being open 5 days?
good start but I doubt that the pay structure you have in place is sustainable. You might have to discontinue it at some stage later on.Especially when your forum lacks the basic seo which would hamper organic traffic inflow.
Paid to post its ok but it is not a good way to run a forum you will just be flooded with spam and members only to post and do nothing else you want to build a community.
Try running a contest. I'm currently running one on my site, and in 6 days i've had the following stats: Threads: 99, Posts: 1,279, Members: 150
Hi snapplekid13, I've been around for a while as you can see from the site in my sig, but every once in a while I have to ask a question that might be elementary but I don't know the answer to. What is the benefit in building such a forum?....NO, not for the members, but for the forum owner?...because I know the forum was not created for altruistic reasons...and I am not in any way, shape, form or fashion casting judgement, I am just truely curious what is in it for the owner. Can you explain to me. Thanks. Jim
1.) theres a post limit and I give infractions for spam... 2.) Whats in it for me? Well I display/sell ads so I get money out of it! I've doen one of these before then sold it and the new owner didn't know what he was doing and made it 10 cents a thread $2 a referral and 7 cents a reply and he got screwed....
