How Do I Market My Forum?

Hi Guys,

I started a forum (Iamboredr.com: Where bored rendezvous 2 weeks back and slowly getting it up and running.

I tried buying adspace on related sites which drives in lots of traffic for a day buy once I stop purchasing ad, the traffic dies down.

Can anyone suggest how I can cont promoting this forum??

I'm thinking of having a highest poster of the month.. offering a prize or something.. don't know will this work anot.. and comment on that?

I did not submit to any directories as seriously I don't know such stuff do work anot..

 

Do a weekly or monthly update newsletter, and link to popular posts within your forum.

Look at your SEO, are people going to use the title keywords for example to find your forum?

Have you thought about using an Autoresponder then delivering the newsletter to your list? Would be a brilliant idea.

 

I would say don't do posting competitions or reward by paying for posts i did this and got huge spam posts during my contest i deleted over 300 posts because they were spam.

Seperate the words in your Title tag and you could be on for getting a lot of natural traffic once the links come in and the site 'ages'

 

I am having the same problem getting some traffic and even regisitered members that are not spam.

Any tips on some news letter apps that integrate with IPB?

 

submit your good posts to article sites like digg.com

be careful to not get banned though, only quality!

well if you keep the contest regulated with mods you should be fine. Ask some people here on DP to mod your forum and they will do it, you'll find some people. They can help you decrease the spam. Also if the prize is good enough, people won't risk getting banned because they don't want to lose
