Know this has been queried many times before why if I search in G for my exact domain all the sites who link to me come bfore me and im in around 24 th place?
It has been like this since begin of FEb

however I still would like to get a broad spectrum of answers, possibilities some off key 30 or 50 point penalty or too many links too fast, anyone want to offer a reason?
    Ben;)

Why do you think it should come first? There is no such necessity. As far as the search engine is considered, they show the page which they think is most relevant to the query. It is true that search engines, especially Google, gives much weightage to sites having the exact keyword in the domain name or url. But having the exact domain name is not sufficient to prove that it is the most relevant result to the query. Moreover, there are are a variety of extensions available. If the search engine is to show all the exact matching domains, then the first three pages will be filled with those results.

So the only method to have your site to be listed first for the particular keyword is to optimize your site for that keyword. Get maximum external links with the domain name in the link text. And you may succeed.

    All the best

I've seen this happen on new sites quite often. What you see ahead of your own site is other sites that link to you. It usually shakes itself out after a couple of months. So if your site is new I wouldn't worry about it.

If it's an old established site with a lot of back links then I'd start to worry that it might be a penalty.

There is definetly an error when a site linking to you ranks higher for exact search kws and seo doesn't come into this, plus the site is over a year old.

Glad some one else is experiencing too ;)

    cheers for ideas ;/

Your site has a ban or other kind of penalty attached to it.
Google sometimes doesnt ban you outright, they sometimes will just penalise the heck out of you in the results. You need to figure out what the googlebot doesn't like (e.g., anything spammy, not enough content, etc), then submit a reinclusion request through google webmaster tools.
I had exactly this problem for a site. I cleaned up the site, fixed broken links and javascript, and added a bunch of new content, then submitted a reinclusion request. It worked.

You would probably benefit from your domain in some more of the anchor text pointing at your site. People linking to your site must be using other words.

So from that response it appears you think if i had one page with more kws than normal in , it would penalise the whole site?

it has affiliate links plus lots of anchor links using different key terms. It appears to have been targeted since i put in longtail affiliate links, since then i have changed site afil links to externalized js.

    ty;)

Somekind of ban sounds like a good answer but it may just be some kind of optimization problem. Which site is it?

What exactly are you searching for? This phrase? easyinsurance4you

Cuz if so, you're trying to rank for a phrase with word the "insurance" in it. That is one of the MOST competitve terms in SEO. It ranks right up there with "poker" and "viagra". :)

You're being outranked by backlinks and allin-anchor links. The same thing almost everyone gets outranked for regarding highly competitve terms.

You're not being penalized. If you get more backlinks with "easy Insurance 4 you" as the anchor text you'll rank higher. Using the anchor text "cool cars" isn't going to help you rank for "insurance".

Oh ok. so you think that explains why basic car blogs with hardly any reference to insurance and are purely linked due to my car guides rank higher than me for my exact domain search... hmmm.

No definetly a deeper reason like posted before possibly a penalty, but I don't know where to start. No doubt it will return of its own freewill , when its good and ready :)

I guess the answer is simple, the word "easyinsurance4you" is not mentioned at all at your page... Then why should the search engine rank your page #1 for that term ;-) ?

Every link on the site is absolute, and if g reads source code, it would probably recognise this ;) , so another negative any more ideas?

However I will put it in a few times for good measure ...
