Today, The Florida Attorney General's office of Economic Crimes announced an investigation into the online marketing practices of AzoogleAds. The investigation is related to the marketing of ringtones.

To view the information regarding the investigation visit this site:

It is public knowledge that investigators from the AG's office questioned prominent affiliates and affiliate networks in what started as an investigation into Blinko/Buongiorno.

It seems that their investigation has turned up some compelling information against AzoogleAds. The impact of this investigation for the affiliates is unknown.

Well known affiliates like Shawn Collins have lent a helping hand to the AG's investigation. The AG's office is encouraging anyone with information relating to this case to contact Jon Gillman or Robert Schara at (850) 766-2889.

this will be interesting to watch. I haven't did ringtones yet, but I taught about it. But this seems bigger than that now, I'll bet a lot of azoogle marketers skins are crawiling now including me.

Not surprising that Azoogle is being accused of questionable marketing practices... Does anyone know/remember when Azoogle was just a spamming operation, before AzoogleAds? I don't exactly know the details behind this or the merits of the investigation, but based on my past experience with Azoogle (pre AzoogleAds), I am not surprised.

    Azoogle will be fine.
As much trash as you guys are talking, with the exception of Jeremy, most of you will probably be screwed if Azoogle went under.:)

I was just about to sign up w/Azoogle and now I'm having 2nd thoughts. stupid newbie question: what's the deal with ringtones? seem harmless enough, I used to promote them a little at Linkshare. I'm guessing hidden recurring fees or something like that...?
