This is like going back to the basics. Internet was all about buying and selling before pay per click was introduced. Now it's back to the basics of pay per action.

It always comes down to quality even with pay per click or else they smart price you.

I don't see the PPC aspect of adsense going completely away. But this is very interesting. I do see myself very interested in this as an advertiser. I wonder how customizable the actions are.

Eventually it will as advertisers would be more interested in making certain sales with pay per action than hit and trial with pay per click.

Pay per click can never make you as much as pay per action. You make pennies with pay per click whereby with pay per action you would see some real bugs flow in. You just need to know how to do it right.

Google launches Pay Per Action Module. Details can be accessed here - http://services.google.com/payperaction/

Pay-per-action ads complement your current campaigns by providing a new pricing model that extends your reach and allows you to pay only when a defined action is completed on your site. This beta feature is currently available to AdWords advertisers in the United States on a limited basis as part of our beta test.

Very nice, but how does Google know if a sale has been made by the merchant. He sets up a PPS click, but can deny he made a sale. So no commission for the publisher (and Google).

It's a nice idea and we signed up too.

But there is one thing I couldn't find on the help page.

See, we have a 7 day money back guarantee for listings. We're just wondering how that would work with this pay per action.

Very intersting indeed. I eagerly await some feedback from US users so I know whether its any good when it reaches the UK shores.

correct me if i am wrong.. a ppa program would only be profitable for advertiser and publisher. but adwords could cause loss for an advertiser.
