I heard I could make money with Google adsense. So I signed up. Now I feel like I'm stupid or something, cause I don't know what to do next. Can anyone help this old dummy find out how to make some cash?

Well, step 2 would be to setup a website about something. Step 3 would be to make the website interesting enough to get visitors. Step 4 would be to add the AdSense code in your site once the traffic is large enough. Then you will start earning money. The details for each step will fill several books so I won't go into it here. Good luck!

Make a website about something you like. then add adsense code to the site. Submit website to search engines. Write new articles on your site everyday.

One thing no one tells you it takes more effort to make money online than a 9 to 5 job does.

Buy this book from Amazon.com. (I did not write it, I do not make money off it.)

    http://www.amazon.com/Make-Easy-Mon...1794208?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1174719421&sr=8-3

It is the perfect starter's book to Adsense and how to make money off it. Without knowing the basics, which the book provides, everything else will sound Greek to you.

I know what you mean. You've got to start somewhere. It can be very daunting at first, but keep reading this and you will get hang of it soon enough.

You will surely get the hang of it. Everybody starts with a website. Then you start putting the ads, see how it is going, playing a bit with the ad positioning, colors etc, and before you know it you start to understand who the thing works. Then with experience and trial/error things start getting better.
If you are just starting a website, in my oppinion, the important thing is the content and second important is link building. Once you have started building these, you should worry about your ads. Because even the better ad positioning will get you nowhere without content.

    1. First of all... start with your passions.

    2. check if your passion may interest a good number of people

after you have chosen, you have your niche. what you should do is:

    1. make a website about that

    2. Place ads on your site. (try having some good ad placements)

    3. drive traffic! (actually this is the hardest part)

    THEN YOU MAKE $$$$! ;)
