Just wanted to share this knowledge with you guys...

A lot of threads have been popping up like - is it worth it to start a directory, why would I start a directory, what are the benefits, etc...

I just wanted to pass on some tried and true words of wisdom to you all :) Whatever you want to do - and I mean whatever, if you put in the research, put in the effort to make it happen, and adapt to make it work, absolutely anything you do will make you successful.

The reason the majority of people fail in this is because they want to make a quick buck. If you spend 1 hour setting up the directory, and 1 minute a month clicking the "Approve All" button, you can expect probably $1 dollar a month. Now, I will choose to make Chris (http://www.alivedirectory.com) as the proving point here. He spends countless hours and thousands and thousands of dollars to re-write every description and title, and promote his site to get his site listed everywhere possible, etc... Essentially, he puts in a huge amount of time, energy, and money into Alive... and God knows it shows.

This is just an ethic of life. I used to run adult sites (don't ask) and it became very profitable after a large amount of time and energy was spent setting everything up and maintaining the sites. Honestly... pick a niche or idea, and if you put enough energy into it and the research of it - it is GUARANTEED to happen. (Why don't I run adult sites anymore? Because it wasn't profitable anymore? NO!... hehe, because I got married)

Anyways, hopefully this thread will give you guys all hope to put in the time, money, and effort into a quality Whatever you do...

This has been said countless times over and over again.
Why there was an entirely new thread on it i cannot figure out.

This is all base common knowledge to even the novice.

I agree with anon here. There is no need to start a new thread for the thing which has been said earlier billions of time.
