getting this thread back on topic...the guy is innocent until proven guilty...furthermore, I think that his whole interview on TV might actually give him the public support to help prove his innocence.

Oh yes, back to the topic. The sentence that sums this all up for me is "Better to be judged by twelve than carried by six."

Yes, the Marine may have made a mistake. Yes, he may be punished for it. But, in the heat of battle mistakes will be made. If your alternative is to get dead, sometimes you err on the side of firing when you shouldn't.

It's sad, but accidents happen and there is nothing that will ever be done to change that.

So saying "they were in hostile behaviours" justifies murder of unarmed people. How cute.

So i think any militar killing a US citizen could say that pretext and it'd be okay too.

Normally I'd just go ahead and make a fool of you, but you don't seem too bright in the first place, so I'll refrain from taking credit over something so easy.

Read what I wrote. No one contends what is directly in your quote above in the first place. How the hell am I going to show you evidence of something that no one suggests in the first place?

commandos, you must be the slowest terrorist in your cell.

The Marine himself admits that he made a mistake. He also says that, under that same circumstances, he would make the same mistake again.

If the court agrees, he will most likely be found guilty of making a mistake and he will be punished for it -- more than he already has been.

Unlike you terrorist assholes, Americans don't get their rocks on by killing innocent people. That fellow is going to have to live the rest of his life with his mistake, and he can't revel in the fact that he did it all for the glory of Allah.

No personal attack, just a general observation based upon your comments. I know you can't help it, which is why I didn't *actually* lambast you.

Good use on the victim card though. My compliments ;)

How are we full of hatred and racism? We are simply pointing out the obvious, if you would like to masquerade that as racism then so be it. But I am, as probablly most of the other guys argueing from my point of view, are any thing but racsist. Unless you have proof otherwise, I believe you are the on being racist and hateful with your slanderous garble.

And yes, I have a few muslim friends :)

It's the classic victim card. In their simple minds, being aware of such is the actual hatred, not the act itself. They don't take issue with the act of hatred, they take issue with others for being aware of the act.

gworld uses this a lot too.

Actually, not so much. Although we did have some troubles with the ex members of the Iraqi army after we fired them all, the troubles from the Sunni's now are caused almost exclusively by non-Iraqi's. It's the Al Qaeda channel -- all Al Qaeda all the time.

It's a different situation in the Shiite areas. There, the Iraqi's are the footsoldiers of the murdering militias and the Iranians only provide ledership, training, and materiel.
