MS Gives Up to $10 to Clients Who Use Live Search Instead of Google

Basically they are paying companies to get their employees to use Live instead of Google. Think it will have an impact?

Saw it in a news article. I can't post links yet so you'll have to Google it I guess :D if you want to read it, unless your boss makes you use live that is. ;)

Maybe someone else would post the link if they'd like to.

Microsoft has been saying they were going to "topple" Google in the search-engine arena.. But even Bill Gates doesn't have THAT much money!
Instead of trying to buy search-engine users, I suggest they use that money to make a search engine that works...

Google have brought enough firefox users with the $1 referral, nothing wrong with MS doing a similar thing.

    What's worst is that:
....couldn't bring myself to do that -- certainly not for $2-$10!

In that article it says some businesses could make $xxx, xxx's a year. Its not aimed at you and me just companies with a large amount of employees and computers.

I did not read the article but as far as i see, if their search engine is ready to fight with google, this is not a stupid idea but if they still are not ready, i should accept that this is a stupid movement :)

Yes, that was what I was about to say. They are not really interested in roping in personal users like us, but rather large corporations, which are the ones that really matter.

The day google drops their PR feature no one will love google. Its only the PR feature thats keeping google alive . MSN needs to come up with a nice algo of their own to own google.

You what? PR means nothing. I think you'll find it's the quality of the search results that keep Google 'alive', which Live.com cannot currently compete with.
