Digitalpoint Adsharring revenue program-will it put me on SmartPricing

Hey, I just joined the AdSharring Program here at DigitalPoint, I've only had 20 impressions so far, but am worried that if I have low clickthrough rate on this channel that it will bring my other well-performing adsense sites down.

Any Experience with the adsharring program here and if it performs well enough to risk Smartpricing my adsense account.

Good question and I'm sure this has been addressed before, but I'm curious to know as well.

well i got my first clickthrough on digitalpoint adsense, not sure if its against tos of google or digitalpoint to say ctr ppc etc, so i wont. but not bad for one click on few impressions. guess i'll just have to monitor CTR and dump the channel if it gets very low

Smartpricing is nothing to do with CTR it's to do with conversion rate - how many people that do click then go on to buy a product, fill in a form, whatever.

So monitoring CTR won't help at all, and we don't have access to advertiser conversion data. So it's out of your control.

I'm not sure that's how it works, how does google monitor conversion. I've used adwords before and never did anything with Google to report conversions.

that was the exact point i was going to make, i use adwords without conversion tracking on one of my sites, as i make up the point spread so to speak with adsense, buy low sell high...but the kind of ads digitalpoint run look like they are either selling something or some service so likely to have conversion tracking.

    from http://adsense.blogspot.com/2005/10/facts-about-smart-pricing.html

If anything perhaps they are hinting that a high CTR can lead more often to a poor conversion rate, and hence smartpricing.

A lot of businesses would find it hard to measure conversion rate - those where their goal is simply to attract people to their website - and I guess they just get ignored in the calculations, and google base their stats and smartpricing on those that can measure it. Anyone who uses adwords can, in principle, define their conversion targets.

Doesn't smart pricing work on a site-to-site basis?

If so.. then all that would mean is DP is actually getting smart priced.

I believe that's how it works... someone correct me if im wrong...

from everything i've read here at digitalpoint, it isn't site by site but rather on an account by account basis, so some people (not sure how) create a separate account for their low-end sites.

still not sure whether i should drop the program or wait and see, would hate to get banned from adsense or put on smartpricing for a couple bucks a month
