I think mahood stopped talking about domain names about halfway through this thread. To be honest Im not really interested in the Politics section of this forum but I found the domain tld angle interesting.

I haven't seen you much lately (because of avoiding this area), any new guns in the collection?

I've been avoiding the P&R forums for a long time myself. I wandered back in for a bit because I'm taking a break from work.

No new firearms recently. To be honest, there's not much that I don't have. :)

    How familiar.

    • Taliban calls their opposition "US ass kissers".
    • Saddam said the same.
    • Mullas propaganda machine is repeating this every day.
    • Ghazaphi has the same idea.
    • Chávez Frías has the oponion about the opposition.
    • That broken communist probably accuses others the same.

I have no wonder why these countries have better relation with Europe than US. At least they use the same vocabulary.;)

You got to be joking.
Thought of a great domain name once but needed the .us at the end to make it stick. Big no no cause I ain't no US citizen.

So before you start hailing, maybe double check your info.
And do something about your taste of beer. :p

    If anyone is interested...

There are quite a few countries that require an in-country address in order to purchase a ccTLD domain for their country. I think they are called restricted domains. I worked on a project a few years ago where we had to register 20+ ccTLDs. It turned out to be quite a bit more complex than we anticipated.

When I registered my .us domain, no questions were asked or answered.

And this is one of the good things about this new era. You either are in Will's side or in Talibans' side.

For years there was US in one side and AntiDemocraticReligiousExtremists on the other side with the Euorpe in the middle. Europe had a good relation with both sides but now they have to choose.

Technically they were though as you checked the Terms and Conditions box. I know no one reads those but you did agree to it.

.us isn't worth crap right now but someday they may decide to enforce it. It would suck to lose a nice domain in the future

    2 good points.

    1. Acutally no one is going after you or ask any documentation for a .us. It seems to me that US only wanted to follow other countries on having its very own domain and not to giving it's residence a higher hand on competition.

    2. From my point of view .us is crap. I don't see any point in it. I want a .fr or .ie domain because in that area there is far less competition and local search engines value them - not as somebody suggested for pretending to be a french or buying all the domains just for selling them :D -

In the U.S., we consider .com to be our country level domain. :D
