I puked after watching the video....Poso is in Poso, Indonesia. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Bo-ZRb1Edg
They are Islamists and they are killing off the Christians in Indonesia. Most of the Christians in Poso fled to Tentena, but the Islamists followed them and started bombing them there. Here's a bit more from the lefties at Time: http://www.time.com/time/asia/photoessays/laskar_jihad/1.html So much for the Religion of Peace. iatbm, where are you?
I wonder who will be the first to suggest that the worst part of this is being aware of it, rather than the acts? Where's pizzaman?
I think that would be a terrible thing to say. Knowing about it doesn't hurt. What's more disturbing is the fact that little innocent children are being hacked to pieces because of their religious beliefs.
Reminds me of Rwanda, many hundreds of thousands dead and it was common to hack them to death. It didn't matter whether they were children or not. I have not seen such excellent footage from other genocides though. It should be like this up front in our faces so we see exactly whats up. I'm not opposed to seeing similar footage (graphic death) from Iraq either or anywhere. Let's not sanitize it. If children are being hacked to death because they are Christian, or Muslim, or whatever I want know. But honestly Muhammad himself was good at and a teacher of genocide so this shouldn't be a surprise.
Indonesia is a volatile country. In '94 I travelled through and one night, sitting in a backpackers there was loud rumbling outside and driving down the road was a seemingly endless stream of tanks. This was before internet cafes and mobile roaming and my thoughts were of how to let family know where I was if anything was going to happen. The next day everything was calm and there was no sign of the tanks - but that kind of military presence must have been normal as only the foreigners were interested. On returning home in '94 I got a job with a company that did Aid Agency contracts. My job was to get the opportunities that were upcoming, go through the personnel lists and put together a team (all contractors) and then the sales guys would build a proposal and bid for the contract. We had guys who were experienced in Indonesia who were returning time and again to undertake a project that was fixing up a failed social experiment - and their last job. They weren't responsible for the failure (necessarily) but whoever was deciding what needed to be done were dislocating families and doing some things that seem all very worthy but are actually major stuff ups.
